Missing Persons Should not be About Race
Missing persons is not a race issue; it’s an America issue
There is no question that the case of murdered 22-year-old Gabrielle “Gabby” Petito has taken our country and the internet by storm. I personally have written numerous stories here on Medium, regarding Gabby’s demise and the search for her assumed killer, Brian Laundrie. As police and others continue the hunt for Laundrie, a celebration of life for Gabby is set for today.
After I retired from law enforcement and a position as a Forensic Child Interviewer, I made the decision that I would spend time assisting, however possible, with missing persons cases. I do so primarily by writing about cases, in an effort to keep them from being forgotten. It’s my way of “giving back”. It’s a passion that I have, and it’s fueled by my desire to not only help find those who are missing, but also to give hope in some small way to the families and friends of the victims.
