Is there a link between some missing Native American women/girls and serial killers?

You have to wonder. Reports have documented that there are approximately 2,300 missing Native American women and girls in the US. And other statistics show that another 2,000 are missing in Canada.

This got me thinking about a possible link between some missing Native females, and serial killers. While I certainly can’t say for sure that this is the case, I do believe that it’s quite possible. And if we really stop to think about it, the theory seems to hold water. According to statistics from the Justice Department, there are anywhere between 25 and 55 serial killers operating in the US at any given time. And when you consider that there is no solid database in place to track missing Native women, it would certainly make is more plausible for a serial killer to do his or her work, basically undetected.

Tracking issues and stigmas

The problems that exist in tracking missing Native American women/girls are many. And the stigma that surrounds the reasons for their disappearance is a big part of the issue.

As I mentioned earlier, our country still lacks a solid database for tracking Native women and girls…
