Jodi Huisentruit Remembered
The love between sisters is love that never stops
If you passed on from this world, how would you like those left behind to remember you?
For the past few months, I’ve been publishing articles about the disappearance of Iowa television news anchor/journalist Jodi Huisentruit. Jodi disappeared in the early morning hours of June 27, 1995, while walking to her car, and on her way to work. Jodi handled the morning anchor duties at KIMT-TV in Mason City, Iowa. She had overslept that morning, and as she rushed to her red Mazda Miata, she was taken by an unidentified suspect. Jodi has not been found to this day, and while she was declared legally dead in 2001, no arrests have been made in Jodi’s case. She left behind family and friends, who to this day, mourn the loss of a woman who has been described as bright, loving, kind and focused.
I recently had the honor of speaking to Jodi’s older sister, JoAnn Nathe. I contacted JoAnn in the hopes that she would be willing to talk with me about her sister’s disappearance. All too often, missing persons are looked at as a statistic. Abductions are sadly much too frequent in these times.
