Hi A.W. When I was a police officer, 85% of my case load involved investigating child abuse--including sexual abuse. Additionally, as a Forensic Child Interviewer of 6 years, I interviewed over 1,000 children between the ages of 3 and 17. Many of those cases involved sexual abuse.
The point I want to make, is that in a huge amount of those cases, the suspect had other previous sex offenses. It is almost unheard of for a true sexual deviant to be rehabilitated and essentially "fixed". This case is just another example of that. It really bothers me A.W. that these people sit on death row for years and years, at taxpayers expense. I truly wish that our country would wake up to these realities.
Thanks for writing this very sad, but necessary story.
Stay well!
