Hey Susan, I'm Scott. First I wanted to thank you for following me here on Medium. I also enjoyed your story on "ma'am. I think that hits home with a lot of women. I was raised to call people sir and ma'am as well. And being a former police officer has ingrained it in me even more. But I agree that it does have connotations of being older. I'm 63, and in my mind, I'm 40. I'm sure lots of women feel the same way.....sure is funny how a simple term meant as respect, can change that. Great read, Susan.
